Architect, Technologist

Amritha Krishnan

Amritha Krishnan is an architect and technologist, building AI systems for architectural design. Her early professional career spanned architectural practice across Morphogenesis, CnT Architects and Total Environment. She holds an M.Arch in Emergent Technologies and Design from the Architectural Association, London. Her experience in practice, combined with a background in computation led her to build products that help architects reshape design outcomes. She worked as Head of Product at Snaptrude from 2018 to 2025. There, she led efforts to encode spatial logic, including areas, adjacencies and proformas, into AI tools for rapid design testing and evaluation.

She is currently focussed on how qualitative and performance criteria can be made legible to AI systems. Now in her third year tutoring at AAVS, she investigates low carbon material exploration as a frontier of this approach. Longer term, she’s interested in AI-driven generative design and what it means for design authorship.

Sagarika Suri - rockpaperscissors

rockpaperscissors is a material lab based in Bombay, established in 2022 alongside its architecture and interior design counterpart, Studio Tessera, by Sagarika Suri. The lab is committed to utilising waste materials and is presently engaged in transforming scrap plywood into functional, artful furniture. Our mission is simple yet impactful: to challenge the boundaries of material reuse and bring thoughtful design into contemporary spaces. Liquidply is a collection of lamps and furniture born out of experiments with upcycling waste plywood. Small pieces of wood and plywood are assembled and crafted through various processes to produce objects with sinuous patterns.

The project celebrates the anatomy of plywood—its cross-section, which is commonly hidden. The layers of plywood, the deliberate geometry of assembly, and the process of wood-turning produce distinctive patterns on curved forms.
